The ‘Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca’ (now called ‘Miró Mallorca Fundació’) is a cultural institution in Mallorca that enables the discovery of Joan Miró’s art and the study of his creative process in the place where the artist lived and worked for almost 30 years.
A project by DOMO—A + Gris. Careful Design
The ‘Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca’ commissioned us to create a commemorative identity of its 25th anniversary.
For the design of this commemorative identity we identified the main aspects to consider:
We understand that the museum is a space built and under construction beyond the architectonical aspect, since it was conceived to preserve Miró’s legacy and, at the same time, to offer a space for artists, activities, interpretation, and experimentation in a privileged natural environment in Mallorca island.
To work on the commemorative identity, we extracted key concepts and related them with the different elements that had to take part in the new identity, such as typography, shape, composition…
We wanted the “25” to be modular to suggest the concepts of architecture, construction, creative process…
This “25” inspired us a certain typography with which the logo was designed.
With this “25”, we also wanted to transmit the passing of the years, since we understand that the 25th anniversary commemorates the work carried out year after year, a project that must continue to be built in the future.
We also wanted that this “25” could be used to identify audiovisual material, this way all the content related to the celebration would be easily identifiable.
Through the applications we shows this modular world, building different concepts related with the center activity.
